The short answer

Sold through Link, LLC (“Link”), an affiliate of Stripe, is the merchant of record for every Swops purchase. That means Link:

  • charges your card or other payment method,
  • collects any VAT or sales tax,
  • issues your receipts and invoices, and emails them to you,
  • handles payment and order support, including refund requests.

Swops itself is made by Codeiac Single Member SA, in Kifisia, Greece. You see this in the app too: “Secure checkout by Stripe. Sold through Link, which emails your receipt.”

On your bank statement

The charge comes from Link, on behalf of Codeiac, the company behind Swops. Look for LINK.COM in the description. The exact wording varies from bank to bank. Not sure a charge is ours? Compare its date and amount with AccountPurchase history, or contact us.

At app.link.com you can manage the card for a Solo or Business subscription, cancel a subscription and ask Link for help, including about refunds. Changes you make there reach Swops automatically. See Update your payment method and Cancel or resume a subscription.

Why Swops works this way

People buy Swops from many countries, and each has its own rules for VAT and sales tax. With Link as the merchant of record, the right tax for your country is worked out and collected, and you get a proper receipt and invoice wherever you are. See Currency, VAT and sales tax.

Is my card safe?

You pay in Stripe’s secure checkout, which opens inside Swops. Your card details go to Stripe and are handled by Stripe and Link. Swops never receives your full card or bank details.

Who to ask

  • A charge, a receipt, a refund: Link, at support.link.com, or Swops.
