Before you start

All you need is your phone and a business card. Any card works: your own, a colleague’s, the one from the coffee shop. The free trial includes 10 scans and 2 AI analyses for 30 days, so there is room to practise.

1. Sign in with your email

  1. Open app.swops.ai on your phone and tap Continue with email.

  2. Type your work email and tap Email me a code.

  3. Type the 6-digit code from the email. That is it: your account is created the first time you sign in. No password.

  4. Swops asks What should we call you? Type your name and tap Continue. Your team sees it on the contacts you capture. You can also tap Skip for now.

2. Add Swops to your home screen

Swops shows you how for your phone and browser the first time you open it. It takes a few taps and then Swops opens full screen, like any other app. On iPhone, sign in once more when you first open it from the home screen. 3. Scan your first card

Scan a business card Scan, check the details, mark the contact Hot and add a note. From card to saved lead in a few taps.

  1. Tap Scan in the middle of the bottom menu. The A new connection. sheet opens.

  2. Check the line at the top: Save to My contacts (or the collection you chose). That is where the contact will go.

  3. Tap Scan Card, hold the phone over the card and take the photo.

  4. Swops shows Reading the card…. A moment later the contact opens with Contact saved.

Once fewer than 10 scans are left, the scan sheet also shows how many, with Choose a plan on the trial.

4. Mark it while it is fresh

Scroll down to Priority and tap Hot, Warm or Cold. Then type a line in Conversation notes: what they need, what you promised, when to call. Tap Save changes.

The note your future self will thank you for

“Wants pricing for 3 sites. Call after the 15th.” beats “Nice chat”. One specific line is enough.

5. Read your first brief

At the top of the contact, tap Analyse business · 1 analysis. A Quick look appears within seconds. Keep talking, or close the sheet: the full brief replaces it in a minute or two, with the sources it used. See Analyse a business.

6. Two small things that pay off later

  • My card. Set up your own card once and show it as a QR code when someone asks for your details. See Set up My card.
  • Company context. Tell Swops what your company offers and new briefs also say why that business may matter to you. See Add your company context.
