Kept as printed
Swops copies a card the way it is printed. A Greek name stays in Greek letters, a Japanese company name in Japanese. Nothing is translated, so the contact matches the card and the person’s own spelling.
Two details are written in English by design:
- Country is the English name of the country (for example “Greece”), taken only from a printed address or a + country code.
- Labels such as Mobile and Phone follow the app. The AI recognises common labels like M, Mob, Tel, T, Κιν. and Τηλ.
Cards with two languages
Many cards print the same details twice, for example in English on one side and Chinese on the other. Photograph the side you want saved. You can add the other spelling to the notes.
Accents and special letters in Excel
The CSV export is saved in a format Excel recognises, so accents and non-Latin letters show correctly when you open the file. See What is in your CSV export.
Swops’ own screens and emails are in English. Briefs normally come back in English too, even when a company’s own website is in another language.
