Once per device
Sign in once on a phone or in a browser and Swops keeps you signed in there until you sign out. There is no password to remember.
Each browser counts on its own. Signing in on your phone does not sign in your laptop, and Chrome and Safari on the same phone each need their own sign-in.
The home-screen app keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari. The first time you open Swops from the icon, sign in once more with a code. After that you stay signed in. See Add Swops to your home screen.
Several devices at once
Use Swops on as many devices as you like, at the same time if you want: your phone at the stand, your laptop back at the office or the hotel. Everything is saved online, so each device shows the same contacts. See What you can do on the phone and the laptop.
Why you might be asked to sign in again
- You signed out on another device. Sign out signs you out everywhere. See Sign out.
- A private or incognito window. It forgets your sign-in when you close it.
- Cleared browsing data. Clearing cookies or site data for app.swops.ai signs you out of that browser. It also resets the collection new contacts go to, on that browser.
- The browser cleared it for you. Some browsers forget your sign-in on sites you have not opened for a while. Adding Swops to your home screen helps.
- Your account was deleted. See Delete your account.
Any of these shows the sign-in screen. Sign in with a new code and you are back where you were: your contacts are stored online, not on the device.
“We could not check your sign-in”
We could not check your sign-in. Check your connection and try again. is different: Swops could not connect to check it, so you are still signed in. Wait for a better connection and try again.
On a shared or borrowed device
Sign out when you finish, especially on a computer at a stand or in a hotel. Remember that Sign out also signs you out of your phone, so keep your email handy for a new code.
